How Stated Works

Stated is a platform for recording commitments and tracking what happens after they are made.
It is not a résumé, performance system, or reporting tool.

It exists to create a durable, public or private record of what individuals and organisations state they will do and how those statements evolve over time.

Stated supports two types of profiles: individual profiles and company profiles.

Individual Profiles

What an individual profile is

Each individual profile represents one person.
It is not a bio or portfolio.

It does not summarise past achievements.

Instead, it records forward-looking statements, what a person commits to do from this point onward and tracks the outcome over time.

Profiles remain with the individual across roles, companies, and career stages.

Creating an individual profile

To create an individual profile:

A person submits a request to create a profile

Once approved, the profile is created

Each profile begins with two free statements

Additional statements can be added by upgrading later.

Making a statement

A statement records:

what is being committed to

the time period (monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, or yearly)

the intended scope or context

Statements are not evaluated or scored.

They simply remain visible as the status changes over time.

Updating outcomes

Each statement moves through simple states:

Ongoing (in progress)

Completed (as stated)

Revised (updated due to changed context)

Withdrawn (no longer pursued)

Updates reflect what happened not explanations, justifications, or opinions.

Company Profiles

What a company profile is

Each company profile represents one organisation.

Company profiles are used to record:

organisational commitments

strategic initiatives

team-level goals (for example: product, marketing, operations)

statements made on behalf of the company

Company profiles are paid and managed by authorised representatives.

Creating a company profile

To create a company profile:

An authorised representative submits a request

The profile is reviewed and approved

Access is provided on a yearly plan

Each company profile includes a defined number of active statements per year.

Company-level statements

Company statements may relate to:

the organisation as a whole

specific teams or initiatives

time-bound objectives

Company statements are separate from individual profiles, even when individuals are responsible for execution.

Visibility and control

Profiles and statements may be:

public

private

limited to selected viewers

Stated does not promote profiles, rank outcomes, or suggest conclusions.

What Stated does not do

Stated does not:

determine objective truth or factual correctness

assess performance, merit, or suitability

function as a compliance, audit, or reporting system

replace internal management or review processes

It records what was stated, over what period, and what followed without interpretation or judgment.

Why Stated exists

Commitments often fade when:

roles change

teams shift

priorities evolve

narratives move on

Stated exists to ensure that what was stated remains visible beyond the moment it was said.

Getting started

Creating a profile begins with a request.

Once approved, profiles can be created and statements recorded.
